The REACH Center of Hope is a 24 hr shelter for families experiencing homelessness. We partner with a number of agencies to ensure that our clients are accessing every avenue possible as they make their journey from homelessness to stability.

The Program Manager works to lead the Center of Hope Shelter &

REACH Meal Coalition staff, volunteers, partners, and interns to deliver

excellent customer service and meet the programs goals.

This position requires someone who can work with diverse populations

and provide culturally competent leadership and service. The Program Manager’s responsibilities will range from supporting residents to coaching and

training COH staff and REACH Meal Coalition staff, completing administrative

duties to support of smooth running of the shelter, and contributing to a

positive work environment.

Program Overview

The Center of Hope is a 24-hour shelter for families and single women.

Our aim is to help families move from homelessness to stability through

support, provision of basic needs, case management, and ongoing assessment.

Also, we provide meals for members of our community experiencing chronic

homelessness and food insecurity through our REACH Meal Coalition. We maintain

a network of partnerships to support our clients and we prioritize a healthy

and vibrant volunteer base. We hope to build understanding of the complexities

of homelessness and move our community towards sustainable and compassionate

solutions. In addition to COH responsibilities, the Program Manager is in

charge of oversight for our REACH Meal Coalition.


Program Manager Responsibilities

Participate in long-term and short-term program development and planning to establish goals.

Develop and effectively manage the program policies, procedures, and staffing/operations to ensure the Center of Hope and REACH Meal Coalition meets program deliverables.

Monitor program activities to ensure quality and accuracy of COH & RMC work outcomes vis-à-vis contractual and grant commitments, and REACH values.

Manage and coordinate programmatic meetings including managing contractors.

Train and mentor staff via group and one-on-one meetings and trainings.

Deliver tours, speeches, or other assistance to our partners and/or other community-based organizations when needed.

Complete grant applications and reports through collaborative writing and editing with the Executive Director and the broader REACH administrative team.

Ensure program metrics are tracked, logged, and reported accurately in King County’s Clarity

database, in our in-house database, and with other funders as required in a timely manner.

Manage relationships with partners as they relate to COH & RMC and/or as delegated by the Executive Director.

Participate in COH & RMC strategic planning activities.

Oversee and implement the COH & RMC budget.

Identify opportunities for promoting programs and services.  Implement promotional activities on behalf of REACH COH & RMC.

Identify partnership and funding opportunities when possible. Promote relationship-building among COH/RMC and other organizations, agencies, and/or individuals in collaboration with the Executive Director.

Develop tools for programmatic use including survey and evaluation instruments.  Identify technological tools to enhance and support COH/RMC’s capacity and programs.

Serve as programmatic liaison to external partners, including representing COH at regional and local meetings.

Adhere to documented administrative and recordkeeping guidelines to support accurate bookkeeping and documentation of program performance.

Perform other duties as determined by the Executive Director.

Experience and Education Requirements

·    BA or BS degree with at least three years of relevant experience

·    A strong understanding of human and community services practices.

·   Ability to work with diverse individuals and groups on complex community issues.

·   Track record of grants and program management.

·  Knowledge of and interest in communications and program management.

· Willingness to engage in continuous learning and training.

·  Demonstrated professional and political aptitude.

· Proven desire to engage strategies that prioritize equity and anti-racism

· Highly organized and demonstrated ability to manage details

·   Highly collaborative and energized by a fast-paced environment

·   Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.

Accountability

Reports to REACH Executive Director.                    

Additional Information

1.  The successful candidate is expected to work full time. 40 hours per week

2.  Ability to be on call for shelter/community emergencies.

3.   General office hours for this position are 8.00 am – 4:00 pm or 9:00 a.m.-5:00pm. The hours

for this position however must be flexible to ensure program needs are met.

4.  Attendance at weekly leadership team meetings required.

5.      Environment can be fast paced at times, with multiple things happening at once.
