Grant Relations Officer

Overview 

The National Military Family Association (NMFA) is the voice of military families, we are a “go to” source for advocacy, support, and programs. Our team understands better than anyone that military families serve, too.

NMFA has an immediate opening for Grant Relations Officer. In this role, you support NMFA’s fundraising activities through the development and implementation of a comprehensive foundation grants development program.

Responsibilities

In coordination with the Director of Development, manage NMFA’s efforts to

cultivate and secure corporate donors, to include:   

• Developing an annual foundation and corporate grants strategy and expanding support for NMFA programs through prospecting, proposal and relationship development and stewardship
• Writing compelling, persuasive proposal narratives, applications, reports and supporting documents
• Developing a deep understanding of program content through strong inter-departmental working relationships to ensure integrity and quality of proposals
• Contributing to designing accurate logic models with realistic outcomes and benchmarks
• Working with key staff to develop and implement strategy for educating and stewarding donors

Assist the Director for Development with the daily operational responsibilities of the department to include:

• Providing input into the department’s grant revenue budget
• Developing and implementing the department’s grant revenue strategic plan

The ideal candidate has:

• 3+ years grant writing fundraising experience and experience in stewardship of grant donors
• Clear and compelling writing and communications skills 
• A detail-oriented, organized, deadline-driven approach to organization and planning
• Knowledge of the families of the uniformed services
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
