SUMMARY
The Finance Manager in collaboration with the Head of Finance and Operations is responsible for the financial health of Her Justice by overseeing financial operations and providing strategic financial guidance. The Finance Manager is responsible for financial planning, analysis, and reporting, as well as forecasting and budgeting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general accounting tasks, including but not limited to account payables processing, communications with vendors, account receivables processing, and monitoring internal controls.
- Process cash receipts, reporting and reconciliations with the Development Operations team, including reconciliation of Financial Edge/QuickBooks and Raiser’s Edge.
- Project lead support in government contractual paper works process including budgets and government grant allocations.
- Support Head of Finance & Operations in annual audit, including donated legal services hours tracking, reconciling and reporting of general ledger schedules.
- Project lead support in financial system migration from QuickBooks to Financial Edge in first year.
- Partner with Assistant Director of People & Culture in payroll processing and reconciliations.
- Communication and partnership with outsourced finance consulting firm in finance needs.
- Process paper works for new hires, and support HR and IT with user onboarding, offboarding, and transitions.
- Work with Head of Finance & Operations on updating, improving and enforcing financial policy.
- Provide general administrative support to the Director of Finance & Operations or Operations team including support with team/large meeting logistics and employee/cultural initiatives gatherings.
SKILLSET AND QUALITIES
- Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop or financial management software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
- Comfort with VoiP phone platform.
- Comfort with databases, experience with database entry preferred.
- Comfort with Blackbaud applications preferred.
- Strong experience providing support for employees.
- Experience in vendor coordination and facilities management.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detailed-oriented and natural curiosity to improve staff experience.
- Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 3-4 years of relevant work experience required.
- An additional 3-5 years of relevant work experience required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Our physical office is open. Staff are given an option to work from home, from the office, or a combination of both, depending on their needs and job requirements. Finance & Operations department staff are asked to come into the office a minimum of two-three days a week, subject to change. All Her Justice staff are provided with a business laptop computer. This position is based in our New York City office and the hire must be able to commute to said location.
Salary: Expected to be $71,914 - $89,892, and commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical insurance, 401K plan and a liberal vacation policy.
