Position Summary:

Easterseals NY- Project Soar is seeking a One-to-One Teacher Aide for our preschool program serving students with special needs.

Essential Job Functions:

• Work under direct supervision of the child care teacher or assistant teacher.
• Carry out activities for the supervision and instruction of children individually or in groups as directed by the teacher using developmentally appropriate practices and serving as a model of inclusion.
• Meet custodial needs of children in their care in a timely manner (e.g. Snacks, lunches, etc.).
• Assist in keeping classroom supplies and materials orderly.
• Assist in completion of daily/weekly program operational chores (dishes, laundry, cleaning, shopping).
• Interact with children at all times in nurturing, developmentally appropriate ways and adhere to all other program and agency policies.

Experience and Education:

• High School education or GED, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Two (2) years practical experience working with children is preferred.
• Level I NYS Teacher Assistant Certification.
