    Position:

    The Finance Coordinator is a full-time position, working directly with the Director of Finance & Administration and Interim VP, Strategy & Operations to support accurate financial documentation and processing for the organization. The Finance Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the implementation of administrative, fiscal operations and conducting bookkeeping functions, allowing Generation Hope to best serve families nationwide.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work directly with the Interim VP, Strategy & Operations to support all aspects of his daily work routine.
    • Serve as a liaison between the Interim VP, Strategy & Operations and COO, GH staff and the public. This includes managing requests with tact and diplomacy.
    • Complete a variety of special projects including creating PowerPoint presentations, special reports and agenda material.
    • Handle printing, copying, filing, triage mail and email/messages.
    • Schedule departmental meetings; assist in the preparation and distribution of meeting agendas and materials.
    • Prepare and reconcile credit card accounts.
    • Maintain paper and electronic filing systems by scanning into Google drive.
    • Attend meetings and take notes of discussion; prepare the initial draft of minutes and summaries.
    • Supporting colleagues in setting up, documenting, and managing processes in relation to Accounts Payable
    • Assisting with bookkeeping tasks, data entry, tracking and reporting grant funds.
    • Assisting with the monthly close and reconciliation process, the annual audit and annual budgeting processes
    • Maintain confidential and sensitive information.
    • Other duties as assigned

    • Serve as an accountability partner for staff and a thought partner for the Director of Finance & Administration and Interim VP, Strategy & Ops

    To qualify for this position, you should have: 

    • Personal qualities of honesty, credibility, and dedication to the mission and values of Generation Hope
    • An Associate’s degree in nonprofit management, finance management, finance, and/or business administration or a similar degree program or a combination of training and experience 
    • At least two (2) years of bookkeeping experience with technical proficiency in standard accounts payable procedures, account reconciliation, and analysis
    • At least two (2) years of hands-on experience utilizing QuickBooks Online software or similar financial-management software
    • Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, Bill.com, Monday.com, etc.
    • Strong math and analytical skills
    • Knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures, organization and problem-solving skills, which support and enable sound decision making
    • Personal and professional commitment to understanding and dismantling systemic and institutional racism

    CANDIDATES MUST RESIDE IN WASHINGTON, D.C., VIRGINIA OR MARYLAND BEFORE THE EMPLOYMENT START DATE.  Generation Hope has a hybrid in-office and remote work model.
