Position Title: Women’s Treatment Program Director 

Reports To: Director of Residential Treatment 

Department: Women’s Program 

Employment Status: Full Time Non-Exempt 

 

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced leader to join our team as the Women’s Treatment Program Director. In this role, you will oversee our residential treatment program for women, ensuring compliance with DHCS standards and ASAM level 3.1 residential treatment. Your responsibilities will include leading a team of staff, fostering a positive and collaborative environment, and maintaining high-quality standards to improve client outcomes. General Functions 

The Women’s Treatment Program Director is a member of the SBRM leadership team and leads the 24-bed Women’s Residential Treatment Program, ensuring compliance with DHCS standards and ASAM level 3.1 residential treatment. This role ensures that the program meets quality standards to positively improve client outcomes.  

Position Requirements 

  • Experience in leading drug and alcohol recovery programs 
  • Knowledge of homeless and judicial system population needs 
  • Comfort with conflict resolution, initiative in decision-making 
  • Ability to uphold a client-centered, holistic treatment approach 
  • Certified treatment counselor by approved governing body 
  • Active Christian Faith to lead a faith-based residential program 

Desired Competencies 

  • Knowledge of DHCS licensing requirements, including treatment hours, planning, and documentation 
  • Proven leadership skills to shape program culture 
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player both internally (staff and clients) and externally (providers, law enforcement, etc.) 
  • Strong faith and personal integrity 
  • Experience managing client behavior and long-term residential facilities 
  • Expertise in team leadership and staff development 

 

Principal Activities 

Leadership and Supervision 

  • Lead and supervise residents to create an environment conducive to successful  
  • Hire, train, and support a team of 5 or more staff members 
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment 
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and professional development for staff 
  • Enable staff to perform their best work through effective leadership and support 
  • Seek support from staff, peers or supervisors as the need arises 

Treatment Program Administration 

  • Ensure program complies with all regulations and policies including DHCS standards for an ASAM level 3.1 program 
  • Oversee new resident intake and orientations 
  • Maintain client records in the program database and daily activity logs 
  • Provide resident and program information to support staff as needed 

Environment and Safety 

  • Ensure a clean, safe, healthy, therapeutic, and drug-free environment 
  • Maintain confidentiality for all residents and guests 
  • Conduct drug testing and facility inspections for safety, cleanliness, and contraband 
  • Secure and monitor medications appropriately 

Conflict Management and Support 

  • Set and maintain professional boundaries with residents and peers 
  • Support the treatment team during behavioral interventions using the Behavior Modification System 
  • Facilitate crisis intervention and conflict resolution 
  • Deescalate volatile situations professionally 

Team Collaboration 

  • Maintain open communication with supervisors and peers 
  • Attend staff meetings and provide input 
  • Participate in team-building and training activities 

Community Engagement 

  • Build rapport with community providers and represent the program externally 
  • Support other SBRM departments as needed 
  • Supervise Recovery Program clients serving the homeless and assist during crisis situations 

Effect on End Result 

This position ensures a safe, healthy, therapeutic environment, and active participation of residents in their recovery program, aligning with the objectives of the Board of Directors and President.
