Safe housing is an essential component of mental health recovery, and TMHA provides supportive housing to over 300 clients annually, spanning more than five cities in San Luis Obispo County. The Director provides trauma informed supervision and direction to all assigned Housing and Forensics programs and staff at all levels of operation. The Director will function as an agency liaison and program contact to all related individuals, agencies, programs, and committees in the community. The Director will uphold and promote the philosophy and mission of the organization.
Hours /Salary
Full-time, exempt position. $80,000-$85,000 depending on education and/or experience. Includes a generous individual benefits package.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree (must meet the requirements for “Head of Service,” of a certified Mental Health Rehabilitation Provider per Title 9, Sec.622-630); 2 years of mental health experience; and 4 years of staff supervision or management experience OR 2 years of college education; 4 years of mental health experience; and 8 years of staff supervision or management experience. Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative work style and strong oral and written communication skills. Well defined organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and flexibly. Ability to handle intense situations, display good judgment and decision-making skills, and remain calm and clearheaded under pressure. Able to work effectively with a variety of people and personality types regardless of age, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression or socio-economic level. Must use reasonable precautions in the performance of one’s duties and adhere to all applicable safety rules and practices while acting to assure at all times, maximum safety to one’s self, fellow employees, clients, and other persons contacted through TMHA. Conditions of employment include: Must be at least 18 years of age; possess a valid CA Driver’s License, at least 2 years driving experience, reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance, and DMV driving record that meets TMHA’s current vehicle insurance requirements. May be required to utilize personal vehicle and auto insurance. Ability to possess and maintain good physical and mental health. Attendance is an essential function of this job that requires face-to-face interaction with clients and/or other employees. Must comply with a TB assessment (possibly a TB test if needed to confirm a negative tuberculosis result) and receipt of a criminal record clearance through fingerprinting. Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination, including booster, or request a medical exemption with a healthcare provider document advising against the vaccine OR an exemption based on a strongly held religious belief or practice per the California Department of Public Health. Those who request and are approved for an exemption will be required to test for COVID-19 weekly and send the results to TMHA’s Human Resources Director every 7 days. Must be able to successfully complete First Aid and CPR training.
