    Job Summary

    We are seeking an experienced Social Media Manager to join our team as a contractor. This role is for 10 hours per week and is ideal for an expert in social media strategy who can create impactful campaigns that align with our mission at Stories of Immigrants (storiesofimmigrants.org).

    The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that enhance our brand presence, engage our audience, and drive traffic to our digital platforms. This position requires a blend of creativity, analytical skills, and a passion for immigration rights and digital marketing.

    Duties

    • Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies across various platforms to increase brand awareness and engagement.
    • Create, curate, and manage published content (images, videos, and written content) that aligns with the brand’s voice and goals.
    • Monitor social media channels for trends, audience feedback, and engagement metrics
    • Conduct social listening to understand audience sentiment and adjust strategies accordingly.
    • Collaborate with the founder to align social media campaigns with overall marketing objectives.
    • Analyze performance metrics and provide regular reports on social media effectiveness, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in social media, digital marketing, and emerging technologies.
    • Assist in advertising campaigns by creating targeted content that resonates with specific audiences.
    • Upload and manage website content using WordPress, ensuring consistency with the organization’s brand and mission.

    Experience & Qualifications

    • Proven experience managing social media platforms for brands or organizations, including TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Youtube, and Facebook, ideally with a nonprofit organization.
    • Strong skills in advertising, digital marketing, and graphic design are essential.
    • Proficiency in video editing and photography to create compelling visual content.
    • Experience with proofreading to ensure all content is error-free and aligns with brand guidelines.
    • Familiarity with web analytics tools to track performance metrics effectively.
    • Knowledge of social listening techniques to gauge audience sentiment is a plus.
    • Experience using WordPress to upload, edit, and manage website content.
    • A creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box while maintaining a focus on business objectives.
    • English is required. Spanish is preferred, but not required
    • Passion for immigration rights and advocacy is a significant plus.
