Descrição

The Civic Participation Manager is an integral part of the LCF Georgia team- leading the efforts of civic education, civic participation, voter registration, voter mobilization, and voter protection with significant input and participation in the advocacy work of the organization. The Civic Participation Manager will use his/her/their skills to increase the number of informed and engaged Latinos in Georgia that volunteer and turn out during elections and keep elected and appointed officials accountable throughout the year and buildcapacity through our member organizations and leaders across the state.

The manager is responsible for leading the implementation of all civic participation activities including: identifying, coordinating, organizing, and reporting on nonpartisan voter registration, voter education, voter mobilization, local civic engagement, and census work in the State of Georgia through our Latinos for Democracy coalition and internal efforts.

The Civic Participation Manager must work independently on their projects, but will coordinate and collaborate with the Program Director, the rest of the management team, and the administrative team for high impact and efficient use of resources and opportunities.

The Civic Participation Manager will work to expand the number of trained volunteers, staff and organizations engaged in the civic participation work upholding the highest quality standards while representing the organization in civic participation activities.

Civic Participation Manager Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and implementation of civic and voter engagement program, including voter registration, non-partisan voter education, voter turn-out. efforts, field/data tracking, census, and redistricting efforts.
  • Develops and manages the budget and reports for all Civic Participation efforts, including approving hourly expenses from educators and other logistic details.
  • Represent the LCF Georgia at the ProGeorgia State Voices Table in the VR/GOTV, census, and redistricting efforts.
  • Support the development and implementation of base-building strategies in conjunction with the management team through coalition work.
  • Work closely with the management and executive team and funders and partner organizations to plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of our civic engagement strategies.
  • Supervise, schedule and evaluate day-to-day maintenance of civic participation activities including volunteer outreach, recruitment, and training, materials development, and event coordination.
  • Recruit, cultivate, and train volunteers and staff members reporting in the Civic Participation program.
  • Collect and maintain effective data into the organization database and share and upload outreach activities into the ProGeorgia outreach/activity tracker. Weekly uploads are required.
  • Represents LCF Georgia at the state capitol and other meetings during advocacy efforts and civic participation campaigns.
  • Manages all relationships as the leader of the Latinos for Democracy coalition.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or and/or experience in community education & organizing
  • Fully bilingual (Spanish and English)
  • Commitment to LCF Georgia mission, social justice and Latinx communities
  • Ability to work with limited supervision / Self-starter
  • Tech-savvy using cloud-based platforms and databases
  • Access to a dependable vehicle (and drivers’ license)
  • Flexible to work and drive around Georgia
  • Proven ability to lead a diverse team
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Fast learner and outgoing personality

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with civic and voter engagement strategies (i.e. phone banking, canvassing, mailers, etc.)
  • Experience leading successful organizing campaigns
  • Experience with voter files and data filtering, management
  • Experience with diverse communities, colleagues, funders, donors, and allies
