Summary

Reporting to the Co-Executive Directors, the Kidz Club Program Lead works in partnership with staff, volunteers, student leaders, and families to achieve the Kidz Club Program goals and the mission of Take the Next Step.

Program Responsibilities

Kidz Club Program Responsibilities

o   Provide overall strategic and administrative support to guide the achievement of program goals and impact

o   Organize Educational/Life Skills materials/experiences and make sure a backpack of study materials is available every Kidz Club session for each small learning group

o   Reading materials / Provide age-appropriate reading materials for each grade level

o   Writing materials / Encourage regular journaling by students

o   Math materials / Provide grade level appropriate practice problems, math story problems, and math games

o   Oversee Life Skill lessons for the program that includes planning topics, scheduling presenters, and teaching life skills lessons when needed

o   Coordinate leading of singing/worship/Bible story and Life Skills discussions in Kidz Club large group time

o   Complete monthly report including good news stories and program outputs and outcomes Share these in staff meetings and in program reports as well.

o   Oversight and training of staff and volunteers for Kidz Club weekly programming and activities

o   Ensure that vans are filled with gas, maintained, and ready for the program and field trips

o   Be available to drive the van(s), as needed, to transport students from Monroe Covenant Church to the various neighborhoods and the children’s homes as needed

o   Work with Monroe School District to ensure bus transportation is provided for students on all program days, to maintain partnership, stay up to date on common language and curriculum, and to continue to find ways of meeting the needs of the children and families with whom we work and serve

o   Communicate regularly with Hispanic Family Support Advocate and Resource Center staff to connect Kidz Club families to necessary resources and opportunities

o   Create and deliver a summer program, consisting of 4 days at minimum (one (or more) day(s) per week for a month)

o   Complete Food Bank order weekly, when needed, and organize stock when it arrives

 

Student Leader Program Responsibilities

o   Provide leadership training and mentoring for student leaders both formally and informally

o   Encourage Student Leaders in their own faith walk and discipleship

o   Encourage Student Leaders in their own academic career

o   Oversee the organization of the 5th grade field trip days throughout the school year

o   Organize multiple student leader activity Team Days to cultivate community, team building and share life experiences

 

Volunteer Related Responsibilities

o   Supervise, and schedule Adult and Student Leaders Volunteers

o   Equip volunteers to lead children in discipleship

o   Remind the volunteers of the policies and procedures followed at Kidz Club as needed

o   Organize and develop meaningful content for Kidz Club specific Volunteer Trainings

o   Efficiently inform Volunteers and Student Leaders of Kidz Club sessions, trainings, and events and announce program and schedule changes

 

Administrative Responsibilities

o   Obtain and maintain current, up to date information parent permission/registration form for each child

o   Train volunteers on sign in and sign out procedures

o   Track student and volunteer attendance

o   Meet regularly with Hispanic Family Support Advocate and work with them to contact or visit families of students who have missed 2 or more Kidz Club sessions. 

o   Regularly attend Staff Meetings

o   Maintain a current First Aid/CPR Certificate

o   Monthly meetings with Co-Executive Director for program check-in

o   Support the integrity and transparency of programs’ financial activities.

o   Receipt of cash or check donations is immediately given to the Co-Executive Director for the deposit

o   Purchase items for programs and ensure that program purchases are staying within the monthly and annual budget

 

Community Engagement Responsibilities

o   Coordinate with Food Bank, Outreach Coordinator, volunteers, and churches to plan and deliver a healthy snack for each Kidz Club day/event

o   Volunteer/Mentor at Frank Wagner Elementary School at least 2 hours per week

o   Develop relationships with the students’ teachers at Frank Wagner Elementary

o   Assist struggling students in their classroom during your school volunteer session

o   Meet monthly with Co- Executive Director and Frank Wagner Principal and staff

o   Develop friendships and trust with Kidz Club and other neighborhood families

o   Plan at least one Family Together Night per Quarter

 

Infrastructure Responsibilities

o   Together with program Directors, staff and volunteers work to protect and maintain and function of all Take the Next Step’s assets including:

 

Basic Requirements

o   Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer

o   Follower of Jesus who is passionate about introducing children to Jesus 

o   Ability to interpret, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions

o   Ability to clearly write instructions, policies, and procedures as needed

o   Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer (4 hours or more daily)

o   Clean Driving Record

o   Can pass a background check

o   Possess excellent computer skills and ability to learn quickly

o   Strong advocate for children growing up in poverty and/or unhealthy situations

o   Meets volunteer requirements for Monroe School District including vaccination status or relevant waiver

 

Benefits

o   This is 32 hours per week, full time non-exempt, position - $22 per hour
