Summary:

Keshet seeks a dynamic and experienced professional to join a phenomenal team. The Bay Area Education & Training Manager is responsible for providing Jewish organizations throughout the broader San Francisco Bay Area with excellent training, workshops, and consultation equipping them to further Keshet’s mission for full LGBTQ equality and belonging in Jewish life.

The Bay Area Education and Training Manager will build on Keshet’s existing work in the Bay Area to develop an even more robust presence for Keshet as the go-to LGBTQ equality and inclusion resource for all Jewish institutions in the San Francisco Bay Area. This staff person leads programs and trainings that develop the concrete skills and knowledge of Jewish organizational professionals to foster greater LGBTQ equality in their Jewish communities.

The Bay Area Education and Training Manager reports to the Director of Education and Training and works closely with both local Bay Area-based partners and with Keshet staff across the United States. We will consider candidates located in or prepared to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.

Keshet's national office is in Boston with offices in San Francisco, Chicago, Florida, and New York, as well.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and implement all aspects of Keshet’s institutional change work in the San Francisco Bay Area.
• Build continued momentum for Keshet’s local education and training work, and lift up Keshet’s profile within the community, through proactive outreach and relationship-building with Jewish institutions.
• Facilitate LGBTQ inclusion trainings and workshops and provide consultation to Jewish institutions in the Bay Area.
• Develop training content in response to articulated needs from Jewish organizations in the Bay Area, which may include content that differs from other national and regional training content based on the unique needs of the Bay Area Jewish community.
• Oversee and implement annual Bay-Area Leadership Project cohorts, Keshet’s signature institutional change program, including recruitment of participating organizations, facilitation of follow-up trainings and coaching, logistical and facilitation support for the Summits.
• Serve as the local “face” of Keshet in the San Francisco Bay, attending select local gatherings to represent Keshet.
• Coordinate evaluation of trainings and provide follow-up support and resources to participants.
• Periodically contribute to Keshet’s Resource Library.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Passionate commitment to Keshet’s vision and mission of advancing LGBTQ equality in Jewish life.
• Experience facilitating engaging, interactive LGBTQ inclusion trainings for professionals.
• Experience and comfort facilitating interactive educational programming online.
• Extensive knowledge of LGBTQ identities and experiences and the ability to articulate the intersections among diverse Jewish and LGBTQ identities.
• Ability to work with organizations at various places on the spectrum of belonging and to support growth no matter what the starting point for an organization.
• Experience with institutional diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
• Ability to skillfully navigate the Jewish communal landscape.
• Positive outlook, strong interpersonal skills, and experience in cultivating and sustaining strong relationships with colleagues and organizational partners.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.
• Excellent analytical, planning, and project management skills.
• Commitment to bring a racial justice and gender equity lens to programs/work products as well as staff culture.
• Ease working with colleagues in multiple geographic locations and using technology to facilitate daily work and collaborative projects.
• Comfortable with the ambiguity that sometimes occurs in a fast-paced organization, and flexible enough to meet changing demands.
• Significant knowledge of Jewish tradition, identity, and experience is preferred; ease working across a wide range of Jewish communities is essential.
• Ability to regularly travel within the San Francisco Bay area.

Education and/or Experience

• 3-4 years of experience in Jewish communal organizations, diversity, education, or related fields

This position is based out of Keshet’s Bay Area office. At this time, Keshet employees have access to the office but may work from home at their discretion. Over the long term, this position will be expected to work from the office for a minimum of three days per week.
