DevOps / Cloud Engineer

You would be working on several cloud-based applications that support open science and the free sharing of data (e.g. see https://www.hydroshare.org ). In addition, you will be part of an new initiative to support the nations ability to improve water resource prediction. All systems you'd be working on are open sources and driven by the constant growing needs of our community.

Job Responsibilities:

● Lead cloud application and infrastructure deployments for development and production environments.

● Improve infrastructure reliability and implement emerging best practices.

● Encourage and build automated processes wherever possible and embrace Infrastructure as code (Iac).

● Troubleshoot infrastructure issues for end-users and developers

● Provide Subject Matter expertise for the design and roadmapping of infrastructure

● Maintain and advance the capabilities of our CI/CD pipeline.

● Work closely with scientists to transition new and existing R&D software to production infrastructure in the cloud.

● Manage user environments and help resolve issues.

● Create and maintain detailed documentation.

● Support small office infrastructure

Minimum Requirements:

● Strong expertise in server administration ( Ubuntu, RedHat)

● Strong experience with Docker (Dockerfile, docker-compose) and Kubernetes.

● Solid Linux bash/shell scripting

● Solid Experience with GCP (IAM, Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine) or other cloud vendors.

● Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Travis, Bamboo or TeamCity).

● 4-year technical degree and 3+ years professional experience.

● Experience supporting production infrastructure.

● Occasional Off-hours support.
