The starting salary for this role is $87,660.
Who We Are
Guided by the belief that all children deserve the opportunity to live a fulfilling life, the Flamboyan Foundation works to ensure every child in the US and Puerto Rico receives an outstanding education. In Puerto Rico, we are focused on improving reading proficiency for students in the early grades and revitalizing the island by making strategic investments in arts, culture, and education. Our work in Washington, D.C. centers on strengthening family engagement in schools and school systems across the country through trainings, fellowships, and school-based partnerships.
What You Do
The School Partnership Coach, Secondary Specialist, is a resident expert in Flamboyan’s REAL Family Engagement approach and is responsible for coaching a portfolio of DC public and public charter schools, ensuring that family engagement practices are embedded within a school’s culture and practice so that DC families whose children attend partner schools feel a sense of belonging, have a strong partnership with their child’s educators, and maintain a trusting relationship with their child’s school from Pre-K through high school.
Because of your close proximity to schools and communities, your work will be a frequent source of Flamboyan’s most innovative tools, resources, training, and products. Deeply committed to racial equity, you will focus on elevating the agency and voices of people and communities most impacted by inequity. Internally, you will actively contribute to Flamboyan’s coaching community of practice and share best practices to support the organization’s overall portfolio of school and district partnerships. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with colleagues to inform the evolution and relevance of training content and proactive and reactive public-facing resources; and the external affairs team to amplify Flamboyan’s impact and learnings.
This role in particular will focus on ensuring that Flamboyan’s programmatic offerings meet the unique needs of secondary schools, serving grades 6-12th, and that school staff are equipped with the skills, knowledges, and resources to support families in the transition to and through secondary schools.
