Descrição

The Anker Research Institute (ARI), led by Dr. Richard Anker and Martha Anker, engages in and disseminates high quality research, analysis, and training related to living wages and living incomes (based on the Anker Methodology), to inform and influence companies, empower working people, and shape public policy, thereby helping to enhance quality of life and sustainable livelihoods for working people and their families everywhere. The Institute is hosted by Social Accountability International, which provides administrative and communications support.

Position Overview

ARI is seeking to fill the role of Program Assistant part-time, 20-25 hours throughout the work week. The ideal candidate for this position possesses acute attention to detail, has the ability to thrive in a remote environment, and is eager to enhance their knowledge of CSR, business and human rights, supply chain management, and international labor issues. The Program Assistant will provide administrative support for the Anker Research Institute. 

Primary Responsibilities of the Program Assistant include (though not limited to):

  • General Operations
  • Responsible for organizing and maintaining filing systems for ARI documents
  • Responsible for scheduling and organizing meetings and recording meeting minutes
  • Assisting in the creation and documentation of SOPs and other institutional correspondence
  • Draft and send out general correspondence to stakeholders, funders, and organizations on behalf of Anker Research Institute
  • Ensure up to date contact information for funders, clients and researchers, within Outlook, CMS, and other correspondence tools such as Constant Contact
  • Plan and coordinate logistics for Anker Research retreats, conferences, and other meetings
  • Support general publication and communication activities as necessary
  • Provide administrative support to staff and researchers, as needed
  • Contract Administration
  • Data entry of contract information and maintaining the integrity of such data within the contract management system
  • Entering status of project deliverables and payments within contract management system
  • Processing both funder and consultant invoicing and tracking of accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Compile project information and use templates to draft contracts for review by direct supervisors
  • Any other tasks assigned by ARI leadership and direct supervisor

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent administrative experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in the following:
  • Inputting data, verifying data accuracy, organizing and maintaining data
  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Answering general queries, scheduling meetings, and managing calendars
  • Preparing templates and storing information in digital form
  • Familiarity and experience with business, ability to work well in an international environment, CSR, human rights, and labor issues preferred
  • Experience with a nonprofit or social enterprise, a private sector employer and/or an international stakeholder a plus

Skills

  • MS Office 365 applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, MS Project or Planner
  • Email marketing applications such as Constant Contact - used for invites, newsletters, mailings, and general correspondence
  • Creative design applications such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud; desirable
