The Possible Project (TPP) is a multi-year, youth entrepreneurship program offering students exciting project-based experiences, including:

  • the creation and running of student-directed, passion-based ventures 
  • hands-on experiences within TPP Social Enterprises
  • work-based learning opportunities through internships and fellowships  
  • learning about and use of high-technology maker equipment, such as laser cutters, 3-D printers and clothing printers/presses
  • personalized college and/or career advising

The spirit of entrepreneurship grounds students’ experiences, igniting their passions, inspiring creativity, and providing opportunities to engage in design-thinking, problem-solving, and build self-efficacy. Throughout their TPP journey, high school students work with dedicated educators, advisors, peers, and field experts; earn stipends; design products and services in a state-of-the-art makerspace; attend pitch panels and marketplaces; build and apply essential skills, mindsets, and social capital; and explore the exciting opportunities that exist post-high school. Students have fun learning, growing and interacting with peers as they design their futures.  

TPP is in its second decade of operations, having served nearly 1000 students in the greater Boston area. The organization employs 30+ professionals with plans to grow significantly in Boston over the next 4 years, as well as other cities beyond 2025. Opening in the fall of 2021, TPP's Innovation Center at 31 Heath Street in Boston, in the heart of the Jackson Square community, will feature tech-enabled classrooms, lively design and collaboration spaces, a professional makerspace with state-of-the-art equipment, multi-media studios, offices for partner organizations, community meeting and event space, and quiet spaces for thinking and creation. The building will also serve as TPP’s new headquarters, bringing together leadership, staff, operations, and programs under one roof, and leaving lots of room to grow. 

In our new space, TPP will grow our enrollment to reach a goal of reaching up to 1,000 students per year within the next five years. The Possible Project’s vision is that TPP’s Innovation Center will serve students from multiple Boston high schools through year-round programming, and will also serve as an important contributor to an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the community, becoming a catalyst for education, employment, job training, and post-secondary pathways for high school students and young adults, and for the surrounding community. In addition to hosting the TPP youth program, the Innovation Center may house and support local businesses, which in turn could provide job and internship opportunities to The Possible Project’s students, alumni and other community members. The Innovation Center will also house meeting and office space for community organizations, host co-working and/or incubator space, and potentially be a center for teaching advanced manufacturing in its in-house makerspace and advanced manufacturing facility.  



The Possible Project (TPP) is pursuing several exciting strategies and initiatives focused on expanding its impact, including developing and launching the Innovation Center in Boston, and refining its program to serve a larger number and broader range of students. As TPP grows, its operational processes and systems must keep pace, and create a greater foundation for scale. Reporting to the COO, Operations Director will play a lead role in ensuring that: TPP’s new facility is launched and operated effectively, efficiently, and safely; that TPP continues to refine and executes on its multi-year technology strategy; that our business processes are efficient and compliant; and that operational opportunities and challenges are anticipated and addressed in a timely manner.  



  • Work with COO and external owner’s project manager firm to support final phase Innovation Center construction and launch, with a focus on implementation of in-building equipment and technology, including: Networking and wireless equipment; Makerspace equipment; audio-visual equipment; and building/guest management system
  • Work with COO, Chief of Staff, and external property management firm to train TPP staff members and orient students and guests to use of the Innovation Facility, as well as relevant policies and procedures related to building use.  
  • Serve as lead and “go-to” member of TPP’s staff for questions and issues related to facility use, particularly as it pertains to the use of systems and equipment mentioned above.  
  • Serve as a key on-site manager of TPP’s new Innovation Center facility, participating in a rotation of Operations Team personnel to be the on-site operations lead multiple days per week (this will include occasional Saturday hours).


  • Serve as point person with TPP’s Managed Service Provider for technology support. Manage half-time “Deskside Support Technician” provided by Managed Service Provider, who will provide technology support on-site beginning in mid-November 2021.
  • In partnership with the COO and external consultants, develop and lead implementation of TPP’s multi-year technology strategy, with primary focus on protecting TPP as an enterprise, and strengthening the use of technology to serve students. Continually refine the roadmap for implementing recommended technology initiatives. Communicate plans and manage key related projects internally, and lead roadmap implementation.
  • Lead implementation of key technology priorities, working closely with outside consultants and vendors, and leading internal working teams to develop requirements and steward implementation. Key priorities include:
  • Implementation of Learning Management System and Student Information System (fall 2021 & winter 2022)
  • Selection and implementation of “dashboarding” application (winter/spring 2022)
  • Migration of file storage and file sharing/shared workspace to a single platform, scaffolded by training and support related to the migration process, and folder structure and permissions
  • Serving as the clearinghouse for and tracking all software and technology licenses across the organization, and serving as TPP’s point person with technology vendors.  
  • In partnership with Managed Service provider, track and manage inventory of all technology equipment (laptops, etc.)
  • Work closely with COO, Chief of Staff, and others to recognize technology opportunities and troubleshoot technology-related issues.

General Business Operations

  • Strengthen and manage key business processes at TPP, including:
  • Updating and coordinating business processes that cut across departments and teams at TPP, such as workforce planning, dashboard development and management, etc.
  • Re-engineer and strengthen critical business processes as TPP expands (e.g. ordering student business supplies, managing student business accounts, managing technology inventory, etc.)
  • Serve as a member of the Operations team, with the COO, Chief of Staff and others, contributing to team-wide efforts and representing the operations function within the organization


  • Experience managing high-stakes technology projects and/or high-use, technology-enabled facilities.
  • Strong project manager with deep attention to detail; demonstrated experience managing complex projects successfully
  • Demonstrated technology acumen and clear understanding of how business needs and technology intersect; experience evaluating technology options and implementing new or updated technology within organizations
  • Strong ability to build relationships internally and externally, and mobilize teams of people not in a direct reporting line
  • Passion for youth development and/or entrepreneurship
  • Understanding of TPP’s program and strategy a strong plus
  • Must be a “quick study,” able to quickly understand concepts and get traction against challenges 
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Process and detail orientation
  • Flexibility and a sense of humor

Covid Vaccination Policy

The Possible Project is requiring that all employees be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Being fully vaccinated means that an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. As a condition of employment, newly hired employees will be required to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination.

In order to be qualified for employment at The Possible Project, final candidates must comply with the vaccination requirement or receive an approved exemption.
