DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
Entre Hermanos is seeking an experienced and collaborative Development Director to lead the agency’s work to raise revenue in support of empowerment and advocacy for LGBTQ Latinas/Latinos/Latinx and immigrants. This Full-time non-exempt position requires a visionary relationship-builder to optimize Entre Hermanos’ development and communication strategies. The Development Director will lead all aspects of fundraising and communications for the agency. This position reports to the Executive Director, manages a Marketing and Communications Manager, and works closely with the Board of Directors and the agency leadership team.
Entre Hermanos’ mission is to promote the health and well-being of the Latino/Latina/Latinx Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and questioning community in a culturally appropriate environment through disease prevention, education, support services, advocacy, and community building.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Fund Development Leadership (40%)
- Create, in collaboration with other members of the leadership team, financial and strategic goals for fundraising and communications efforts that meet the organizations’ needs and advance its long-term goals
- Create an annual plan for development and communications activities and associated budgets
- Develop and distribute regular reports to update the leadership team, board, and the organization more broadly on progress toward goals
- Appear regularly at board meetings, providing reports and engagement with the board of directors; act as staff lead of the board’s development committee.
- Work with others across the organization to develop a unique and culturally appropriate style of fundraising that advances its mission and values.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for department activities, including reporting, record keeping, data management, reconciliation, and gift acceptance. Make these policies and procedures available to organizational leadership, and review them periodically for improvement
- Design, hire, supervise, and coach a Development and Communications Manager
- Develop a major gifts strategy to increase number and frequency of gifts at the $5,000+ level
- Work collaboratively across the organization to create meaningful experiences for donors to connect with the work they help fund
Communications (20%)
- Oversee the creation of content that advances public awareness and appreciation of the organization’s work o Identify and work to pursue opportunities for the organization to position itself as a subject matter expert and to engage with the media generally
- Represent the organization in public as a spokesperson, at events and in media
Events Fundraising (20%)
- Manage the conception, planning, communications and execution of annual fundraising events that advances the organization’s mission and values, working broadly across the organization to involve stakeholders at every level
- Supervise the acquisition of event sponsorship donations
- Hire and supervise outside event vendors
Institutional Fundraising (15%)
- Act as key relationship holder with institutional funders as appropriate
- Provide support as Entre Hermanos engages with government funders, including supporting the contract application and reporting processes.
- Work collaboratively inside the department and across the organization to facilitate proposal development and reporting
- Oversee the fulfillment of any donor benefits to institutional sponsors

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Demonstrated commitment to our mission statement, justice, and equality for the LGBTQ community.
- 3+ Years of Raising Money and/or developing communications for a nonprofit organization
- 2+ Years supervisory experience and ability to recruit, hire, and inspire a team
- Ability to perform multiple tasks requiring considerable exercise of independent judgment and time management.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationship on behalf of an organization
- Strong computer & technology skills, including MS Office Suite and donor CRM systems.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with staff, outside consultants, and volunteers with diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate donor meetings and events
Preferred
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Lived immigrant experience a plus.
- Access to reliable transportation
- CFRE Certification or MPA
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Starting Salary up to $85,000 (Commensurate with experience), 40 hours per week.

Entre Hermanos requires all employees be vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine. Employees are considered vaccinated two weeks after completing primary vaccination with a COVID-19 vaccine, with, if applicable, at least the minimum recommended interval between doses. All new employees must inform Entre Hermanos of their vaccination status within three days of hire date and must be fully vaccinated no later than 45 days after hire date.
