Program Director

Josie’s Place for Bereaved Youth and families is a small San Francisco-based program, with a small part-time staff that is a sponsored project of the San Francisco Study Center, a 501c3 nonprofit.

Position Description: Program Director - this position is currently remote

Main Responsibilities:

Manage programs services which include:

* Overall responsibility for managing support groups for children, teens, young adults, and parents

  - respond to phone calls and emails from those interested in our services

 - oversee/conduct intake meetings

 - provide resources to Josie’s Place families and make referrals to community resources

* Plan and deliver volunteer facilitator trainings

* Assess volunteer performance

* Plan and deliver trainings to community partners including schools and nonprofits

* Coordinate critical incidence response

* Assist Director with quarterly newsletters

* Maintain appropriate program records

* Act as liaison with the San Francisco Study Center (fiscal sponsor) which includes sending deposits and     payment requests; creating and sending annual budget

* Maintain internal accounting records; reconcile and maintain Study Center financial reports

* Fundraising: work with the Josie’s Place Development Manager to create and execute the annual fundraising plan.

* Conduct outreach to community organizations; manage collaborative community relationships

This position is a parttime independent contractor position up to 50% FTE

Qualifications:

MA in Counseling or MSW preferred or equivalent experience in the field

Experience working with children and teens

Understanding of child development preferred

Experience working with bereaved populations

Experience in a non-profit setting

Experience working with volunteers preferred

Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Google Docs; PowerPoint proficiency is a plus

Grant writing and grant management experience

Strong communication skills

Training experience a plus

Experience working with diverse populations

Cultural humility

Bilingual is a plus!
