The American Battlefield Trust, America’s largest non-profit battlefield preservation organization, is seeking an enthusiastic workhorse/educator/ with a passion for helping to educate the public about the first 100 years of our nation's history.
The ideal candidate is an organized, prolific, tech-savvy administrator, a solid communicator, a problem solver, excellent time manager, with at least a passing knowledge of the main events in America’s first 90 years (1775-1865). The ideal candidate will also be comfortable with learning new classroom technologies and has an eye for detail. Experience in developing and facilitating K-12 programs is a plus. Candidates must have a strong work ethic, thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, have a bachelor's degree (preferably in education or history), and have one to two years of experience working in a professional environment, preferably one associated with history or education. Some travel, mostly to battlefield-centric locations or conferences, is desired.
The American Battlefield Trust offers an array of benefits to the successful candidate and the salary is commensurate with experience. The Education Assistant works out of the Trust's Washington, D.C. headquarters and reports to an energetic duo of passionate educator/historians.
