    The Center for Teen Empowerment (TE) employs, trains and empowers youth to, in collaboration with adults, create peace, equity and justice. With chapters in Boston and Somerville, MA and in Rochester, NY, TE offers a unique asset-based youth development program that employs and trains youth to identify the most pressing issues in their community and develop a strategy to address those issues as community leaders supporting their peers.

    TE seeks a full-time Associate Director of Development based at the TE headquarters in Roxbury, MA. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Associate Director of Development will play a key role in managing the organization’s fundraising strategy and will be responsible for managing internal fundraising activities to meet budgetary revenue goals in support of Teen Empowerment’s mission. The Associate Director will be dynamic and collaborative, with deep experience in the nonprofit sector and previous experience as a key member of a development department.

    Responsibilities:

    CRM Management

    • Manage the implementation of Little Green Light; with responsibility for data entry and gift processing
    • Utilizing the CRM, ensure effective reporting, tracking, acknowledgement, and correspondence with donors.
    • Create reports that will support stewardship and solicitation plans, tie to accounting and furnish data to be included in TE’s Annual Report.

    Corporate and Foundation Relations

    • Research and identify potential major donors for program and operating support.
    • Manage donor pipeline to secure financial support from foundations, corporations and organizations
    • Process and track grants, thank donors, prepare reports.

    Individual Donors

    • Responsible for conducting donor research, creating donor materials, and scripting solicitation and stewardship plans.
    • Manage individual donor pipeline to secure financial support from individual donors and encourage increased individual giving
    • Assist with annual fundraising appeals including direct mail and email solicitations

    Events

    • Help coordinate all fundraising events – annual celebrations, house parties, and receptions - including seeking sponsorships, contributing to invitations and communications, and soliciting in-kind donations.

    Qualifications

    • Previous fundraising experience with a nonprofit social service, arts-related or youth development agency, ideally with multiple programs and budget of $1M or over.
    • Experience with all elements of a fundraising approach, including special events, major gifts, grants, and individual donors.
    • Ability to establish, steward, and grow relationships with existing and potential donors.
    • Experience using fundraising software.
    • Knowledge and experience of Little Green Light a plus.
    • Social media and website experience
    • Ability to manage multiple, complicated projects.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Creative, independent, and strategic thinker.
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies, including board, staff, youth program participants, donors, corporate partners, foundations and civic leaders.
    • Flexibility and adaptability.
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
    • Demonstrated passion for Teen Empowerment’s mission.

    Salary: $75,000-$80,000 annually commensurate with experience. Health, dental, and vision insurance, generous paid time off, and additional benefits included. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week position. Some evenings and weekends are required.
