Director of Operations

Position:  Director of Operations  

Women’s Support Services (WSS), a dynamic and effective domestic violence agency located in the northwest corner Connecticut, is growing! We are looking for a Director of Operations to manage the operational responsibilities of the agency. This diverse portfolio includes responsibilities in human resources, finance and grant tracking, non-profit compliance and facilities management.

A positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to track, administer and troubleshoot complex projects are necessary attributes for this position. The ideal candidate will be able to thrive in a busy environment and work collaboratively with staff across the agency as well as outside stakeholders. Commitment to the agency’s mission to create social change to end interpersonal, relationship violence is paramount. A working knowledge about gender norms and identities, and how power and control are expressed in society is a plus.

This person will be supervised by and work most closely with the Executive Director and serve as director of the agency in the absence of the Executive Director.

Qualifications:     

Experience in the operations of nonprofit agencies       

Demonstrated ability to manage data, track complex projects and meet deadlines        

Ability to maintain and complete accurate statistical and narrative reports        

Effective time management and organizational skills        

Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed         

Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers         

Competency with Microsoft Office programs, database management, and web-based research    

Effective oral and written communication skills         

Familiarity with the dynamics of intimate partner violence         

Must obtain and maintain certification as a battered women's counselor per CGS 52- 146k11/99 (training provided by Women’s Support Services)        

Valid driver’s license, certificate of insurance and car to enable travel as part of the job

This position is full-time with a salary range of $62,000 to $68,000 and excellent benefits. Women’s Support Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages all to apply.
