Grade/Class: Grade F, Exempt, PSA-Eligible

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Associate Director for National Young Leadership works directly with the Vice President of Leadership and the Leadership team to recruit, retain, and engage ADL’s emerging leaders, build a robust leadership pipeline, manage young professional leadership programming, and works closely with ADL’s regional staff across the country to implement young leadership initiatives. 

Responsibilities

Primary: 

 

  • Manage and oversee current young professional leadership programs including ADL's cornerstone leadership development program, the Glass Leadership Institute (GLI) and the GLI Alumni Network  
  • Direct the young professional leadership track of ADL’s annual National Leadership Summit conference and assist in young professional engagement strategy for all ADL National events and initiatives  
  • Manage ADL’s GLI Alumni leadership body and work to strengthen relationships and development of programmatic offerings for the GLI Alumni network
  • Serve as liaison to all ADL regions on young leadership engagement and support local staff in developing strong young professional leadership strategies and programs, including coordinating the implementation of GLI in each of ADL’s 25 regions
  • Work to build a strong leadership pipeline, including analysis and assessment of current ADL young leadership offerings 
  • Manage national communications and messaging to young professional audiences and to ADL’s young professional leadership groups  
  • Partner with leading local, national, and global organizations in the young leadership space to develop and foster mutually beneficial partnerships aimed at furthering ADL’s mission  
  • Network and create opportunities to grow ADL’s young leadership footprint  
  • Update and develop marketing and communications plans to engage all young leadership populations currently involved with ADL as well as expanding beyond the ADL community 
  • Represent Leadership Department in cross-programmatic initiatives as required 
  • Work with programmatic experts to help create volunteer and outreach opportunities to deepen involvement and inclusion of young leaders 
  • Work in coordination with development staff to secure grant funding for young leader engagement and encourage young professional leaders in their own philanthropic leadership  
  • Oversee consistency and framework of young professional leadership programs and structures, including across the regions

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of professional experience working with leadership in a corporate or nonprofit environment, preferably within the Jewish or civil rights communities 
  • Proven ability to coordinate multi-faceted projects and create programming and strategies to achieve organizational goals, including growth, engagement and promote agency culture 
  • Experience attracting and recruiting people to work collaboratively to achieve organizational objectives 
  • Event management experience preferred 
  • Working closely with volunteers in a complex, issues driven organization 
  • Experience creating and managing budgets 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, social sciences, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education required.

 

Work Environment: 

  • ADL COVID-19 Protocol (updated periodically)ADL is adhering to public health guidance regarding COVID-19. ADL will require that all employees are vaccinated with exceptions for medical and religious accommodations. ADL is requiring proof of vaccination. ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 2 days in the office. 

Compensation: 

  • This position has a salary range of $50,000 to $88,000. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
