ECDC Multicultural Community Center (MCC) is a local branch office of the Ethiopian Community Development Council Inc. (ECDC). ECDC is one of nine national resettlement agencies authorized by the Department of State to resettle refugees. The mission of ECDC and its local offices is to empower refugees and immigrants to lead a life of dignity, become self- sufficient, and integrated members of American society.
Job Summary: The PC Case Manager will have responsibility for the deliverables of the Preferred Communities programs. The Case Manager provides trauma-informed services to participants to support a positive resettlement experience and the achievement of client self-sufficiency. The Case Manager works closely with clients, colleagues, and external parties to develop service and/or self-sufficiency plans to meet individual client needs and preferences utilizing a broad range of financial, medical, social, vocational, and other services and resources in accordance with client eligibility and program requirements. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position.
Key Responsibilities
· Execute PC program with clients from intake to case closure, completing all required documentation in both physical files and in the ECDC database
· Exercise good judgement and decision making in case management
· Ensure delivery against objectives for the PC program by providing oversight and support to clients
· Manage volunteers and interns in task completion in the programs
· Ensure and provide training access to self and volunteers
· Create and maintain resources to support PC program support
· Attend community, leadership, staff, and organization meetings
· Ensure all documentation and reports are delivered on time and complete for PC program
· Cultivate relationships and partnerships across multi-cultural entities and organizations within an assigned area
· Create and maintain good working relationships with clients, staff, and the community at large
· Work hours may require some evenings or weekends with on-call responsibilities for emergencies.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Commitment to ECDC/ACC’s mission.
Licenses/Certifications: Must have a driver’s license and good driving record.
Physical Demands
· Moderate physical activity, which includes standing, sitting, lifting and/or walking.
· Ability to see within normal parameters.
· Ability to hear within normal parameters.
· Requires local travel to meetings.
· Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
Environmental Factors: Work is primarily indoors in a climate-controlled building.
Contact with Others: Position involves regular contact with resettlement network affiliates; local, state, and federal government agency employees, private sector organizations, ECDC/MCC staff and community members.
