This role is offered on a part time basis (21 hours per week) with an annual salary of £15,316.20 (based on a full time salary of £25,527 per annum)

About the role

Legacies are a vital income stream for Christian Aid, making possible a tenth of all we do. Our Legacy Administration Team liaise with solicitors and lay executors to ensure that some 450 cases a year are dealt with sensitively and efficiently. We are seeking a capable legacy administration officer to work in this small team. If you are experienced in estate law and inheritance tax, have an eye for detail and the interpersonal skills necessary to deal with sensitive correspondence, we’d love to see your application.


About you

As a Legacy Administration Assistant, you will be tasked with:

  • Analysing, processing and posting data in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Performing general administrative tasks, such as scanning all incoming mail and documents onto the correct case in FirstClass, our legacy administration system, in a timely and accurate manner handle.
  • Post sensitive personal data relating to supporters, their families and others. Processing and allocating all legacy income accurately
  • Provide telephone cover for the legacy department as required
  • Maintain a good understanding of all tasks undertaken in your section
  • Engage with other areas within Christian Aid to assist with the promotion of Legacy understanding within the organisation and the promotion of legacy giving among supporters and the general public
  • Become involved in other ad hoc tasks as required.

This role requires applicants to have the right to work in the country where this position is based.

From 1 July 2021, the process for completing right to work checks has changed and we can no longer accept EU passports or ID cards as valid proof of right to work, with the exception of Irish citizens.

There are now two types of right to work checks: a manual check and an online check. A manual check can be completed against relevant documentation as outlined by the Home Office. An online check can be completed if you hold digital proof of your immigration status in the UK. We will require your share code and date of birth to carry out this check. Please see Government website for more information on acceptable documents.

All successful candidates will require either a Basic or Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service certificate (DBS) and a Counter Terrorism Sanction check as part of your clearance for commencing your role with us. Information will be forwarded to you by the HR team with your offer.
