IMPACT seeks a motivated and reliable individual to serve as bookkeeper to ensure the financial operation, accuracy, and transparency of the organization. The bookkeeper is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of financial records and reports, and for providing bookkeeping, payroll, banking, finance, budgeting, and reporting services. 

IMPACT (The Imagining Together Platform for Arts, Culture and Conflict Transformation) is a dynamic, diverse, ethically motivated and imaginative global non-profit organization. Formed in December 2021 as the result of a merger of ReCAST, Inc, a 501-c3 based in the United States, and IMPACT, a four-year global initiative, the organization illuminates, strengthens and advocates for the global field of Arts, Culture and Conflict Transformation (ACCT). It designs learning exchanges, workshops, thought-partnerships and webinars in order to build capacity and strengthen connections among artists, cultural workers, peacebuilding scholar/practitioners, policy-makers and funders from different regions around the world. It works on creative approaches to climate justice and responses to gender-based violence in Africa; and to arts and peacebuilding in Colombia, Cyprus and the Philippines. It works with grassroots communities as well as with intergovernmental organizations, including UNESCO. It designs and implements innovative, collaborative research initiatives that bring multiple sources of knowledge to bear on complex 21st century challenges.

Responsibilities include:

  • Record funds received and expenses paid in respective project funds/classes within QuickBooks
  • Pay bills/invoices, prepare payments to consultants (domestic and international), and coordinate staff payroll 
  • Reconcile bank account on a monthly basis
  • Prepare monthly Statement of Activity and Statement of Financial Position, and special reports requested by the Board and staff
  • Work with staff and treasurer to prepare annual budget and track budget-to-actuals
  • Prepare annual state and federal tax filings and the state annual report 
  • Prepare annual 1099s for consultant(s) and W-2s for staff
  • Provide support for fundraising campaigns, including setting up donation pages and button options (including through PayPal Giving Fund) 
  • Track grant-supported income and expenditures and prepare financial reports for funders
  • Track income and expenses and track financial reports related to contracts



  • 5 years’ recent related experience, ideally as bookkeeper for nonprofit organization (or comparable experience) 
  • Knowledge of standard accounting operating procedures, principles, and standards for U.S. nonprofit organizations doing business internationally. 
  • QuickBooks experience required
  • Experience with grant reporting and responding to funder queries
  • Thoroughness, accuracy, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, intercultural competence

Preferred Experience: 

  • Experience working with an international/global nonprofit organization
  • At least 2 years’ experience preparing federal and state tax returns for nonprofit organizations
  • Interest in arts, culture and conflict transformation and creative approaches to sustainability, justice and peace

Scope of work:

5 - 15 hours/month on average. It's a remote position.



$20 - $35/hour, based on experience
