    *Immediate Hire for our Brand-New Tower**

    The Resident Services Coordinator plays a vital role in enhancing the lives of residents by assessing their needs and creating or finding programs that truly resonate with them. This dynamic position involves sharing valuable resource information and connecting residents in permanent supportive housing with essential services to help them thrive.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Conduct needs assessments and community meetings to gain a comprehensive understanding of residents, empowering them to contribute to their community and guiding them to appropriate services and resources.
    • Survey the resident population to prioritize needs and gather input on service preferences, collaborating with residents and property operations staff for clarity.
    • Create strategies to connect residents with needed services, addressing any barriers to access.
    • Establish and maintain partnerships with organizations and individuals to provide on-site services to residents and the broader community.
    • Implement key programs and activities in collaboration with community-based service providers; provide direct services when necessary.
    • Participate in developing pilot programs to test new service delivery models and implement programming at assigned properties.
    • Collect and maintain required data for all programming, ensuring accurate reporting in compliance with funding and governmental agency standards.
    • Evaluate the outcomes of on-site programs and services regularly for quality improvement.
    • Report any suspected child, dependent adult, or elder abuse and neglect in accordance with state laws.
    • Obtain necessary releases to interact on behalf of residents, while maintaining confidentiality.
    • Collaborate with property staff and community agencies to proactively address resident issues before they escalate.
    • Actively engage as part of the site team, working with the property manager and staff to address resident concerns and conflicts.
    • Plan and coordinate recreational, cultural, and social activities alongside property operations staff and residents.
    • Maintain a comprehensive list of community resources (employment, education, social services, etc.) for residents.
    • Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and relevant conferences as required.
    • Participate in local, regional, state, and/or national organizations as assigned.

    Preferred Skills and Abilities

    • Knowledge of services available in Los Angeles County, including federal and state entitlement programs and legal liability issues related to service coordination.
    • Ability to build effective partnerships with diverse community groups and institutions.
    • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment, recognizing multiple perspectives and competing needs.
    • Commitment to valuing residents’ knowledge and experience as essential resources.
    • Skills in motivating individuals to engage in services actively.
    • Proficiency in facilitating meetings and community gatherings.
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with HMIS and ICMS is a plus.
    • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
    • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
    • Ability to establish trusting, confidential relationships.
    • Proven track record of cooperative problem-solving and consensus building among diverse groups.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    • Valid California Driver’s License and insurance are required.

    Education and Experience

    • A four-year college degree in social work, sociology, psychology, or a related field; OR 2-4 years of relevant experience in community development, social services, or a related area; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience or training in working with diverse cultures and specific populations may be required, including children and families, seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or chronic mental health issues, and those affected by HIV/AIDS.
    • Crisis intervention and mental health experience preferred.
    • Experience in conducting community assessments, applying conflict management principles, and organizing community groups and events is advantageous.
