The salary range for this position is $82,000 -$109,000 (min - midpoint). New hires typically start between the range minimum and midpoint based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

Who You Are

With a laser focus on providing an exceptional customer service experience, you will manage all aspects of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) as you work with both internal and external customers. With Gracious Professionalism® our ideal candidate will lead a small team of professionals, ensuring that everyone is provided with growth and learning opportunities.

FIRST headquarters is in Manchester, New Hampshire, and we seek candidates based in New England or willing to relocate to New England. Although this role will have the flexibility to work remote, we are looking for candidates who can easily and frequently travel by car to our headquarters (~ once per week).

What You Will Do

Hire, train, manage, and lead a team of AP and AR professionals and supplemental/temporary staff members offering guidance, mentoring, cross-training, and professional development. Additionally, you will:

  • Engage staff in career management and professional development by providing a challenging environment to the team where people can be successful, learn, and grow.
  • Manage, review, and approve daily AP and AP transactions and functions.
  • Align AR and AP objectives with accounting department goals.
  • Create and implement policies, procedures, and strategies to improve credit collections.
  • Actively review, analyze, and recommend internal control improvements that increase accuracy and improve efficiency.
  • Regularly communicate, support, advise, and train Strategic Souring, FIRST Programs, IT, Development, and other departments regarding proper accounting processes/procedures and donation recording.
  • Actively participate in cross functional collaboration, with IT, Programs, and Development teams, in support of scaled organizational growth.
  • Reconcile General Ledger accounts, provide various analysis, prepare journal entries and various audit/990 schedules.

What We Expect

We are seeking candidates with the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • BA/BS in related discipline, 5 years of directly related experience and at least 2 years of supervisory/people management experience
  • Knowledgeable with proper security and confidentiality procedures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 including SharePoint and Teams
  • Excellent collaboration skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite or other ERP tools and integrated financial systems preferred
  • Salesforce and Concur experience preferred
