Title: Associate Director, Elementary Science Education Professional Development

We are looking for an experienced science professional development specialist to carry forward our work building the capacity of East Bay teachers to lead powerful science learning experiences that integrate math, language arts, and cultural connections to students’ lives.
Organization: Community Resources for Science (CRS) is a nonprofit organization based in Berkeley that helps teachers and scientists work together to bring science learning to life for elementary and middle school students in the Bay Area. We provide information, support, and training for K-8 teachers, and engage hundreds of scientists and engineers from academia and industry in volunteer outreach leading science lessons in schools.
Position: Full time, $85,000-$90,000 salary range depending on experience and demonstrated success in similar roles. Hybrid position; planning and follow up can be done remotely, but most professional development workshops are delivered in person in East Bay settings. California residency required.
Qualifications
Responsibilities
In collaboration with organization leadership team:
a. Design and implement science education professional development programs and sessions,
tailored to meet needs of specific cohorts of attendees
b. Provide engagement and stewardship to support success of PD attendees, before, during and
after workshop sessions
c. Facilitate professional learning collaborations
d. Present at regional/state/national conferences as needed
e. Coordinate with other team members regarding interconnections between our other teacher
service and science education outreach programs.
f. Maintain accurate information and records in Salesforce.
