Through collaborative leadership with partners, our results include paradigm shifting research discoveries, increased federal funding for brain tumor research, innovative new clinical trials, opportunities for entrepreneurship and venture philanthropy to benefit brain tumor research, and empowering collaborative advocacy that results in reforms and advances to health care and the development of treatments.
While we have seen significant progress in terms of scientific understanding of brain tumor biology, we are unsatisfied with the status quo of today’s treatment options. NBTS is committed to investment in new ideas and research poised to incent the development and realization of treatments that dramatically increase survival and quality of life for patients.
The Controller is a critically important position to carry out the financial responsibilities of National Brain Tumor Society including all accounting operations at NBTS. This includes day-to-day revenue transaction processing, ownership of the month-end close, and ownership of the annual audit and tax filings. In addition, the Controller works with the CFO to analyze the results of operations in relation to the budget and forecasts. This role works with others to develop policies and procedures that are effective, efficient, flexible, and scalable. The Controller will ensure that policies and procedures are followed, allowing for proper and timely recording of transactions. This position interfaces and collaborates with many areas of the organization and is instrumental in helping the organization. Please note that this is a hybrid/semi-remote role. While work will typically be performed remotely, on-site work at NBTS headquarters may be required occasionally, on an as-needed basis.
