SUPERVISION EXERCISED: May supervise interns and support the management of Community Managers

LOCATION: Chicago, IL

Grade/Class: Grade F, Exempt, PSA-Eligible

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is the leading anti-hate organization in the world. Founded in 1913 in response to an escalating climate of antisemitism and bigotry, its timeless mission is to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and secure justice and fair treatment to all. Today, ADL continues to fight antisemitism and all forms of hate using innovation and partnerships to drive impact. ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt—an accomplished leader and entrepreneur in the corporate, public, and nonprofit sectors—was recruited to the organization in July 2015. He has injected new energy and brought a bold vision to the agency. Under Jonathan’s leadership, ADL is transforming itself, upgrading its capabilities and pioneering new horizons.    

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION: 

Be a strategic partner to the Regional Director, support the Region’s Senior Leadership Team, and enable communication, collaboration, and strategy execution across regional departments and staff. Assist in planning, developing, and implementing regional priorities, including ADL Midwest presence in all major markets in the region. Assure effective project management and assist in the administration of the office and support the Regional Director in implementing their priorities.

  • Ability to identify issues that could impede group success and provide solutions and recommendations.
  • Ability to see the "big picture" and prioritize.
  • Ability to manage change and ambiguity with an action-orientation/drive.
  • Highest level of integrity and management of confidential information
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead multiple high-profile projects of varying timelines simultaneously.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate, influence, and leverage outside resources to drive results and resolve conflict.
  • Professional presence capable of holding leaders accountable for organizational goals.
  • Experience with nonprofit budgeting, accounting, and database management a plus. 

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible human relations or community service experience including program and operational management
  • Experience in development and fundraising preferred, including closing of gifts and planning.

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree plus additional related college courses or professional training or equivalent work experience.

Work Environment:

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when necessary to represent ADL and to attend community events.
  • Some travel within the region is required. Occasional overnight travel is required following COVID-19 pandemic.
  • ADL COVID-19 Protocol (updated periodically)ADL is adhering to CDC, State, local, and Federal orders regarding COVID-19. ADL will require that all employees are vaccinated with exceptions for medical and religious accommodations. ADL may require proof of vaccination. This role will start as a remote position but may transition to a hybrid environment when offices reopen. 

Compensation

  • This position is a Grade F3, which has an average salary range of $64,550 - $81,650. This salary range is reflective of a position in Chicago, Illinois. Please note that salaries are commensurate with experience, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
