NATIONAL PARTNERSHIP FOR NEW AMERICANS 

The National Partnership for New Americans (NPNA) is a national multiethnic, multiracial partnership network of 48 of the country’s leading immigrant and refugee rights organizations who together advocate for policies and programs to successfully integrate New Americans. NPNA exists to 1) strengthen immigrant and refugee voices in our nation by building the policy and program capacities of our member organizations; and, 2) pursue policy campaigns with our members at the local, state, and federal level; and, 3) Deepen our strategic partnership to advance immigrant and refugee inclusion and equity in the United States.


OVERVIEW 

NPNA seeks an enthusiastic, mission-driven, and experienced Membership Organizer who will play a key role in expanding NPNA’s membership across immigrant constituencies to include greater representation of AAPI serving CBO’s (among other ethnic groups) across the country. The Membership Organizer will be entrusted with member engagement, tracking membership capacities and priorities and thinking critically to ensure NPNA’s strategies are well aligned with the priorities of our members. This position is ideal for someone with an organizing or field background and a demonstrated interest in multi-ethnic movement building. The NPNA staff work as a team to support fundraising efforts and the National Immigrant Integration Conference. 


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

NPNA Member Engagement 

  • Existing members 
  • Coordinate member engagement with NPNA programs & policy team to ensure our programmatic work is streamlined and in sync with policy priorities. 
  • Conduct regular member assessments to identify capacity building and technical assistance needs.
  • Drive member attendance (largely virtual, some national in person convenings) to NPNA events/webinars and capacity building activities. 
  • New members
  • Onboard Coulter conveners as NPNA members through 1 on 1’s, and strategize a new member engagement plan
  • Develop successful strategies to orient new members and build member engagement across NPNA programs, campaigns, and partnerships.
  • Telling the story: Prepare organizational marketing materials to reflect the reach and impact of NPNA membership for funders, elected officials, and other stakeholders.


Affiliate and Member Engagement 

  • Coordinate membership convenings, partner engagement events and sessions at National Immigrant Integration Conference 


Data Management 

  • Co-create with NPNA leadership team a member management system
  • Collect data, track membership engagement and prepare reports to identify program capacity, gaps, and policy and campaign opportunities 
  • Use membership databases to coordinate and track member engagement across the organization. Support annual members renewals and new member recruitment
  • Track and summarize policy priorities of member organizations to inform NPNA’s national and federal advocacy efforts and capacity building opportunities
  • Provide Member data to NPNA development staff in support of grant applications and reports

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • A minimum of 3 years of community organizing, field or electoral organizing, and building relationships with a broad set of organizations within the immigrant and refugee advocacy field, especially among AAPI led/ serving organizations. 
  • Experience managing grassroots and coalition building campaigns
  • Adept at developing member engagement and recruitment strategies with a specific focus on diverse new American serving organizations.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and balance competing priorities
  • Self-driven, demonstrates creativity, personable and has a high level of professionalism
  • Demonstrated writing and editing skills; effective verbal communication skills
  • Comfort working independently, as well as part of a team; proactively collaborate with NPNA staff, members and other stakeholders on relevant projects
  • Multicultural competence and comfort with the ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds and to work across diverse constituencies. 
  • Language proficiency beyond English is a plus
  • Some basic graphic design experience and desktop publishing a plus
  • Experience working with a national network is a plus
