    POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Deputy Executive Director will be responsible for both internal and external structuring, leading teams to deliver high-quality programming and identifying best practices to improve internal systems with an eye toward future needs and budget realities while working cooperatively with private foundations and government agencies. This position directly oversees all programming for participants ages 0-24 years old.

    QUALIFICATIONS: 10+ years in a senior management position in a nonprofit organization, and/or government agency; advanced degree or equivalent, demonstrated leadership and success in high level thinking, planning and responding to multiple priorities; has extensive knowledge in child and youth development and direct experience with DOH, DOE and school systems, DYCD, and Head Start; work with efficiency and flexibility; outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and lead a team of staff in both the Early Childhood Education and Youth Development Departments
    • Develop and implement programmatic strategic plans that assist in meeting agency outcomes
    • Oversee everyday functions with a focus on building, driving, and developing programming designed to support children, youth and young adults
    • Assist in the development of budgets
    • Monitor and analyze program, community, and financial trends
    • Ensure high-quality program delivery
    • Ensure commitment to and compliance with all agency policies and procedures and contractual obligations
    • Assist in creating a culture of transparency and communication throughout the areas of responsibility and the organization
    • Develop positive relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, community partners and government agencies
    • Proactively address challenges that arise in both internal and external environments
    • Collaborate with the Quality & Evaluation team to (1) identify and evaluate broad outcomes to report to Executive Team, the Board of Trustees, and fFunders; and (2) review data analysis in order to identify areas of need and implement continuous quality improvement within the program
    • Represent Hudson Guild in community meetings
    • Collaborate internal Hudson Guild departments to identify measurable targets and goals for your program, and ensure processes are in place to collect and submit data in a timely manner to meet funder and organizational requirements
    • Be accountable and hold staff accountable for implementing programs with fidelity, utilizing evidence-based practices whenever possible
    • Engage in ongoing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) to evaluate program data, determine strengths and areas for improvement and execute action steps to make improvements
    • Collaborate with, assist in and do outreach at all Community Building activities to build and maintain external and internal partnerships that can benefit both participants and community members
    • Responsible for ongoing communication and follow-up with community partners
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    WORKING CONDITIONS: Typical office environment, with occasional travel between multiple sites consisting of school, office, and community center environments.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequent operation of a computer and other office equipment, such as phone and copy machines and remain in a stationary position for long periods.
