Position Overview

The Program Coordinator, Global Youth Programs & Partnerships provides operational and administrative support of the World Food Prize Foundation’s Youth Institute programs globally, facilitates educational outreach and training efforts, helps administer teacher training initiatives. The position provides organizational support on program planning, design, and delivery; communications and outreach, partner engagement and training; operational logistics, and event planning and coordination. Minimum of bachelor's degree required and one to two years experience in relevant fields needed; salary determinations based on experience.

Overarching Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the WFPF’s diverse portfolio of youth leadership development, education, and teacher training programs.
  • Administers and supports aspects of Youth Institute planning, preparation and implementation; operations and logistics; outreach and engagement, student and teacher training, monitoring and evaluation; communications and social media; and student support and safety.
  • Facilitates educational outreach, communications, and coordination of program participants


The World Food Prize Foundation’s (WFPF) Youth Programs are among the most innovative and effective programs in the world today to educate, empower and inspire students to pursue careers in STEM fields critical to food and agriculture. With 25 WFPF Youth Institutes around the world, a proven model of success, and planned programmatic expansion in Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas, WFPF Youth Programs are poised to grow rapidly over the next 5 years. Partnering that growth with unique professional opportunities and mentorship for students and educators will be critical to empowering the next generation of hunger fighters.

The Program Coordinator of Global Youth Programs and Partnerships will administer and support all aspects of the planning and implementation of the WFPF youth leadership and education programs, including: the WFPF Youth Institutes and Global Youth Institute; Global Guides, GOALS, and other teacher training initiatives; and the Wallace-Carver Fellowship and Borlaug-Ruan International Internship programs. 

  • Event Logistics & Support: Coordinate and support aspects of event planning and preparation; volunteer and event staff training; logistics, travel arrangements and booking, site layout and setup; and event coordination for virtual, hybrid, and in-person events. 
  • Outreach & Communications: Engage and regularly correspond with students, educators, and other stakeholders through a variety of communication channels and social media platforms. 
  • Facilitation of Student and Educator Experiences: Ensure that student and educator experiences are enriching, educational and empowering throughout aspects of program design and delivery. This includes facilitating activities, workshops, tours, and trainings; and regularly presenting to a wide variety of groups and audiences.
  • Development of Educational Materials and Resources: Create unique and effective content and activities that support and enhance the education, empowerment and experiential learning opportunities for students, educators, and other stakeholders.
  • Teacher Training: Assist in the coordination of the Foundation’s innovative teacher training and educator empowerment programs, including the WFPF Global Guides and GOALS programs, jointly administered with the Global Teach Ag Network and multiple university and industry partners. 
  • Partnership Management:  Support partnership development efforts and day-to-day relationship management tasks.

General Administrative Duties:

  • Timely internal and external communication via email and other channels of communication.
  • Data management and tracking of program and participant information.
  • Website updates and management of the youth programs online presence.
  • Provides direct administrative support to Program Managers and Directors


  • Bachelors degree and 1-2 years relevant experience required. 
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment, prioritize activities appropriately, and work independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications, especially Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Experience with database management, especially with Salesforce CRM
  • Cross-cultural competency and experience working with diverse groups required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Knowledge of issues in food security, agriculture, sustainable development preferred.
  • Experience working with youth programming or in organizations focused on youth empowerment, education and development preferred. 
  • Experience managing volunteers and event staff preferred.
  • Language proficiency beyond English preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Work will consist of a combination of virtual and on-site meetings and events. Some national and international travel required, and occasionally for extended periods (~1 week).  May be required to lift up to 25 - 50 lbs (generally office supplies or event props). Long periods sitting, may stand for prolonged periods during events.  Some bending, stooping may be required.
