Benefit Access Agent (Bilingual Spanish)

GENERAL NOTE: Benefit Access Agents operate with a high level of autonomy in executing the activities described below. They are expected to configure their own personal approach to fulfilling their assigned duties with the degree of efficiency and effectiveness that supports collaboration with the other members of various teams operating withing and beyond the organization.

Key activities include:

1. Developing and maintaining a thorough working knowledge of available benefits and services that may help the client’s needs.
2. Evaluating clients to gain an in-depth understanding of their circumstances, both at the household and individual level.
3. Assisting clients with any clerical needs related to benefits and services.
4. Referring clients to additional support that is not available at the RIVER FUND
5. Participating, as needed and without limitation, in events of various kinds in the capacities necessary-in the locations and at the times determined by the RIVER FUND.

Administrative Support Code: Preserving the established culture of the RIVER FUND is of paramount importance for all team members in their various functions. Newer team members are expected to consult with longstanding team members to enhance their understanding of the culture.

Basic Requirements (in order of priority):

• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English, Spanish.
• Minimum Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s degree.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suit and Excel.
• Relevant work experience, familiar with public services such as SNAP, Medicaid, Medicare, Etc.
• Able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and able to lift up to 20 pounds (when required).
