COVID policies:

All staff are required to be fully vaccinated (2 doses of a 2-dose sequence or 1 dose of a 1-dose sequence), barring a medical or religious exemption. We base our in-office masking policy on current public health data and governmental guidelines. As of April 2022, staff are asked to wear masks in public areas of the office unless otherwise agreed by everyone present. We have a hybrid remote/in-person work model and currently require employees to be present in the office at least 3 days per week with the option to work remotely up to 2 days per week. We work remotely when public health guidelines require it.

The core to SEEDS’ approach to Restorative Justice Implementation in schools centers on community building, conflict resolution, restorative inquiry, de-escalation, harm repair, relationship restoration and positive school culture and climate development.

In addition to restorative justice trainings, SEEDS’ School Services offers support services in building the capacity of relational school systems including effective communication strategies, feedback, customer service, facilitation, transition management, interest-based decision making, and conflict mediation.

We are looking for highly skilled, energetic practitioners who can deliver high-quality, engaging trainings with administrators and teachers in a direct and compassionate way and facilitate structured, organized group processes. For this role we are only looking for practitioners who can conduct service delivery in both English and Spanish.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the School Services Manager.

In this position, you will:

• Support the implementation of restorative practices with contracted schools and education-based organizations using the SEEDS fee for service model. Our model supports school culture shift by working with the adults in a school system.
• Support School Services Manager in training and implementation of restorative practices in schools (including formal training, circle facilitation, coaching of school administrators and faculty), both in-person and virtually
• Train cohorts of staff and/or admin, often with the background of conflict/tension
• Provide mediation services for education-based clients and organizations
• Give feedback on school-based offerings including materials, program models, toolkit resources, etc.
• Meet quarterly with School Services Manager and other practitioners to review best practices, give feedback on curriculum, and update resources
• Respond to project offers in a timely manner
• Ensure accurate tracking of service delivery data

Note: Most training and facilitation work takes place during the school day, between 8AM and 4PM PT, depending on the client.

Minimum Requirements:

• Fluency in both English and Spanish – native speaker of Spanish preferred
• Access to a quiet, private space with a working internet connection and appropriate technology to conduct confidential meetings and service delivery
• Experience with conflict transformation processes (community mediation, Restorative Practices, facilitation, and/or training)
• Experience delivering trainings both in-person and remotely via video conference
• Valid CA Driver’s License and access to a working vehicle (for required in-person service delivery)
• Ability and willingness to travel within the Bay Area and beyond for in-person service delivery
• Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends as needed
• Ability and willingness to utilize organizational technological systems (MacOS, Salesforce, Google Classroom, Box, Microsoft Office, etc.)

Compensation:

This is an intermittent part-time position. Working hours are dependent on each case and may vary. Practitioners may accept or decline cases based on fit and availability. We anticipate approximately 5-12 hours of support will be needed each week when working on an active project. You will earn $50-$60/hr for direct service work in English, $60-$70/hr for direct service work in Spanish, $45-$55/hr for prep in Spanish, and $35-$45/hr for prep and support services in English and travel. You will also have access to a fee waiver for SEEDS core public trainings while actively engaged in projects.
