Manager of Grants

SUMMARY: Reporting directly to the Director of Development, the Grants Manager is responsible for all grant submissions and administration support in Development at the Saint Joseph Parenting Center (SJPC).

Saint Joseph Parenting Center’s (SJPC) mission is to strengthen families that are at risk of child abuse and neglect by providing parenting education and support. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

The Grant Manger will be responsible for identifying grant opportunities, managing the grant development and proposal process, and collaborating with SJPC stakeholders. Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, a professional and resourceful demeanor, the ability to work both independently and as a team player, and a desire to take initiative and manage numerous projects simultaneously. 

Grants:

1. Secure grant funding based on budget allocation for grants/foundation income.

2. Research new grant opportunities and develop relationships with grant-making organizations.

3. Develop effective grant proposals by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation, methods, timetable, staffing, budget, standards of performance, and evaluation.

4. Identify and understand the financial/budgeting needs of the organization.

5. Conduct any necessary follow-up with foundations during and after the application process.

6. Prepare any necessary grant reporting for awarded grants.

7. Improve proposal-writing results by evaluating and re-designing processes, and approach.

8. Seek out and participate in professional development training opportunities. 

9. Create and manage a grant calendar to track deadlines, submissions, rejections, approvals, and other pertinent data. 

10. Work with leadership team to identify new opportunities, review grant budgets and proposals, and align grants strategy with overall agency strategic plan.

11. Prepare monthly grant reports. 

12. Seek out and participate in professional development training opportunities.

Administration:

1. Provide operational and administrative support to Director of Development, Senior Program Director and Finance Director.

2. Perform additional duties as required.
