IMPACT Boston is a nationally recognized abuse and violence prevention organization that gives people practical skills to keep themselves and their communities safer. Sometimes best known for teaching realistic self-defense, IMPACT’s programs also include education on healthy relationships, internet safety, challenging conversations, de-escalation and bystander intervention. We also work with schools and organizations to develop policies and cultures that proactively prevent abuse.
IMPACT is dedicated to ending violence and abuse by supporting the leadership of those most affected. Our vision is to build a healing-centered, social justice-driven world where everyone has access to safe and healthy relationships. We work to prevent violence and abuse by giving people the skills to advocate for healthy relationships, sexual respect, and personal and community safety.
We are looking for team members who are committed to social, racial, disability, and gender justice. The IMPACT workplace values trauma-informed practices, shared decision making, work/life balance, direct communication, flexibility, creativity, humor, hard work, compassion, and a strong commitment to our mission.
We are seeking a Program Coordinator to teach IMPACT curricula including empowerment self-defense, healthy relationships, bystander intervention, de-escalation, and online safety to youth and adults from many communities. Candidates with experience in teaching, training, theater, performance, sex education, public speaking, youth development, and sexual assault and domestic violence advocacy may be especially qualified. We value diverse skills and experiences – no candidate is expected to possess ALL the qualifications outlined here, and every member of IMPACT’s staff receives paid training and other supportive structures to succeed in their role.
Responsibilities (see note below)*
Desired Qualifications
Work Situation
Compensation: $55,000/year** plus medical and dental benefits, 14 paid holidays (6 of which are floating) and 4 weeks paid vacation. IMPACT pays bonuses in years of good financial health and longevity bonuses after 2 years.
Additional Details
We understand that no candidate will meet every qualification outlined in this posting. Frequently cited statistics show that candidates with disabilities, BIPOC candidates, women, and members of marginalized and/or systematically excluded groups apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. At IMPACT, we are committed to breaking this trend. Every team member receives training and ongoing professional development, and we encourage all interested candidates to apply, even if they don’t meet every single requirement.
