Job Summary

The Property Accountant will work directly with the CPA CFO to assist in the functions of the accounting department.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Review accounts payable data before check processing to verify correct coding and approvals.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
• Prepare monthly financial statements for each low income housing property
• Post activity from property management software to general ledger accounting
• Assist with preparation of journal entries to record accrual transactions
• Conduct periodic internal audits of property management records

Qualifications and Skills

• Accounting degree or equivalent accounting experience
• Proficient with Excel, Word and generally computer literate
• Working knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting concepts
• Prior experience with general ledger accounting 
•  Able to analyze, calculate, consolidate, reconcile and interpret accounting data and identify errors
•  Ability to work well with others and promote a positive workplace
•  Well organized, self-directed, independent worker

Compensation, Benefits and Perks

• Compensation: $60,000. Foundation Communities provides an excellent benefits package including employer paid health benefits, 401(k) investment opportunity, Employee Assistance Program, paid vacation, holiday, and sick time.
