    Job Title: Payroll/Fiscal Coordinator 

    Location: 2012 Pine Street, San Francisco, CA 94115 

    Compensation: $55,000-$60,000 non-Exempt including benefits.  

    Schedule: Full-time, Hybrid Role (3 in Office Days)  

    POSITION DESCRIPTION

    Japanese Community Youth Council (JCYC) is a non-profit 501c(3) agency that annually  serves 6,000 children and youth from all ethnic backgrounds through numerous programs including preschool, employment training and placement, substance abuse prevention, and educational advising.     The Payroll Coordinator’s primary responsibilities are to process youth payroll using ADP  Workforce Now for over 3,000 employees (summer seasonal) across functional areas with  varying pay cycles. Other related functions include maintaining ADP employee and timecard  databases, troubleshooting employee payroll issues, processing check requests, and serving as communications liaison to/from ADP. This position will report directly to the Payroll Manager. 

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

    Youth Payroll Support

    • Process bi-weekly payroll for youth employment training payroll using ADP while adhering to strict timelines for file transmissions and payroll funding such as check requests 
    • Ensure hourly timecards are reasonable, properly approved, and interfaced to pay records; resolve discrepancies 
    • Gather appropriate documentation and complete check requests for payroll and HR/Benefits
    • Assist with accounting software implementation
    • Reconciliation and coding of credit card statements 
    • Work with Workforce staff to ensure staff are entered and coded in ADP accurately
    • Ensure information is accurate in both ADP and Salesforce and properly transfer only green-flagged employees and clean up data as needed
    • Serve as liaison for youth payroll inquiries and discrepancies
    • Adhere to company policies and procedures as well as city, state, and federal regulations 
    • Maintain youth staff confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential 
    • Understand and communicate to staff the ADP notices for any new regulations and requirements; train employees as needed 
    • Assist with staff payroll, financials, and other agency audits as needed

    Other

    • Participate in JCYC meetings, activities, committees, conferences, retreats, etc., as appropriate; 
    • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing professional networks; 
    • Perform related duties as needed. 

    JOB QUALIFICATION

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university in the U.S.
    • Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience as the primary processor for payroll transactions; Expertise with ADP Workforce Now (or similar payroll system) and Salesforce.  

    DESIRED SKILLS

    • Knowledge of federal, state, and local reporting issues related to payroll; 
    • Consistent use of ADP (or similar) system, MS Word and Excel; technology savvy a  plus 
    • Strong aptitude for customer service, attention to detail, and verbal/written communication skills; 
    • Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve and multi-task; work independently and in a team setting; 
    • Ability to communicate with youth of diverse backgrounds regarding payroll inquiries
    • Passion for JCYC’s mission and program work.
