Community Engagement Coordinator

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS seeks a dynamic and experienced fundraiser to join its development team to help grow and steward relationships with students, teachers, volunteers and individual donors, deepening their connection to Broadway Cares’ mission and our fundraising efforts. The community engagement coordinator will report to the individual giving officer and work closely with the development and communications teams to strategize, coordinate, implement and expand fundraising efforts. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Build relationships with college and high school theater groups, Thespian troupes and state organizations, and theater enthusiasts to empower them to fundraise for Broadway Cares and create positive change in their local communities by mirroring the efforts of Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring productions
• Engage regional and community theaters in our fundraising efforts
• Attend select Thespian, leadership and teacher conferences to create awareness about Broadway Cares
• Engage Educational Theatre Association to further foster relationships with local troupes, chapter directors and national executives
• Identify prospective fundraisers and provide tools to ensure their success
• Create and implement engagement plan to promote supporters using social media to raise money for Broadway Cares and increase overall fundraising via social media

Qualifications

• Experience with peer-to-peer fundraising
• Experience working with students and teachers a plus
• Keen understanding of Facebook and Instagram fundraisers
• Ability to authentically engage a wide variety of people
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills  
• Proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suite
• Database management experience – Raiser’s Edge/NXT preferred 
• Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing  
• Ability to organize and prioritize work  
• Ability to work independently with little supervision  
• Excellent interpersonal skills  
• A self-starter with ability to multi-task with solid organizational and time-management skills  
• Understanding of and commitment to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS’ mission
• A sense of humor and a positive attitude 
• An affection for dogs
