The St. Simon’s Justice and Advocacy Internship provides an opportunity to learn and share about social injustice as it was, and is, embodied in the Episcopal Church and our surrounding community and enact projects toward positive change. Projects always include advocacy at the Kansas Statehouse under the direction of Kansas Interfaith Action (KIFA). This intern will have the opportunity to explore the nexus of spirituality, creation, and social injustice and participate in programming for local schools and community groups. The intern reports to, and assists, the Diocesan Missioner. This is a rewarding role for those who have a passion for racial reconciliation, creation’s role in healing breaches, and community organizing. In honor of St. Simon’s parish, African American candidates will be prioritized. The Internship is for one year unless dissolved by the Bishop of the Diocese.
