School intern

We are one of the few private non-profit schools in Costa Rica. Our goal is to be a creative, inclusive, prosperous, and sustainable education center, which through partnerships and as part of the community, provides a well-rounded, nature-based education. 85% of our students are local, and of these, 55% benefit from our scholarship program.

For over 30 years, our school has provided high quality bilingual instruction with an emphasis on environmental education. We are currently working with levels PreK-6 and are focused on serving the students of Monteverde and the international community.

We are welcoming people that have some background in education, sustainability or community development and are 18 years of age or older. Take off for as little as a semester to a whole academic year. Return home with lifelong memories and friends, practical experience, focus, and motivation.

We have different projects for interns to work on.

• Teacher assistan where the intern will learn first hand eduactional methods with hands on activities, and ourdoors. You will also learn about group management, diverse learning abilities management, Spanish, conservation and sustainability.
• Herb garden assistan will help maintain our organic herb garden and will help start a new one with plants that dont require much maintainance, like fruit trees. Tasks may includ but not limit to planting, prepearing the soil with compost, weeding, helping students work in the herb garden.
• Forest trails maintainance: our campus has a 96 acres reserve with several trails that need constant maintainance and we are also working on a trail map and naming the trails.
