    About Nuestra Tierra Aldea Creativa

Nuestra Tierra is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of both biodiversity and cultural heritage. We protect and restore the Chocó Andino cloud forest while preserving ancestral wisdom and promoting sustainable living. Our work integrates environmental conservation with cultural education, community empowerment, and creative expression.

Through our programs, we connect people to nature and each other, fostering personal and collective healing. We offer workshops and retreats that emphasize holistic well-being, art, and spiritual practices, rooted in ancestral traditions. By blending conservation with creativity and cultural preservation, we strive to build resilient communities that honor and protect both the land and their heritage.

Interns with Nuestra Tierra have the opportunity to engage in meaningful, hands-on work that supports environmental sustainability, cultural empowerment, and social impact.

    About the Conservation Campaign Internship

We are urgently seeking a motivated and passionate intern to join our conservation team as we work to secure 120 (and more, but we are starting with this goal) hectares of pristine Ecuadorian cloud forest. This land, located in the Northwest Andean Montane Forests and beside the nonprofit's property, is part of a globally recognized biodiversity hotspot and is under threat from imminent hydroelectric projects and logging activities. Your work will directly contribute to protecting this critical ecosystem.

    Who You Are

You’re someone who feels an innate responsibility to protect the planet. Environmental degradation doesn’t just upset you—it compels you to act. Even when you're low on cash, you still find ways to contribute, whether it’s volunteering, raising awareness, or grassroots fundraising.

You don’t just accept the status quo or believe everything you’re told by news outlets or so-called authorities. You question the narratives we’re fed, especially when it comes to who benefits from the destruction of nature. Your rebellious edge drives you to challenge systems that harm the earth, and you’re determined to push for real solutions that protect it.

Your passion for conservation goes far beyond recycling or boycotting big corporations. You want to be a part of something bigger, where your efforts lead to real, lasting change. You're not in this for glory or recognition. You’re driven by a deep connection with the earth and all living things. You feel a responsibility to protect ecosystems and species, even if that means working quietly behind the scenes.

For you, it's not about ego—it’s about being part of the solution. Your heart is in making a difference, not for personal gain, but because you know the earth, its creatures, and future generations depend on it. You’re ready to challenge the norms, question authority, and be a vital part of a mission that truly matters.

    Responsibilities:

    • Research and identify new and existing funding sources, including grants, for land conservation
    • Working with staff to draft compelling grant proposals and fundraising content to attract donors and foundations
    • Maintain a detailed and organized database: Track all submitted applications, potential funding opportunities, ongoing grant proposals, and follow-up activities, ensuring clear documentation of deadlines, contacts, and outcomes for future reference.

    Requirements:

    • Passion for environmental conservation and biodiversity
    • Strong research, writing, and organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
    • Excellent online research skills
    • Background in environmental science, sustainability, or nonprofit management preferred
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to a dynamic work environment
    • Fluency in English required; Spanish is a plus
    • Understanding of how to use AI for enhanced productivity (within limits)

    How to Apply:

Please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your interest in this internship. Applications are due by October 30th.
