What will you do?
The construction crew leader plays an integral part in building and repairing homes. Lead groups of skills and unskilled volunteers and homeowner families in construction activities while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment, thus, developing and enhancing your volunteer management and construction skills.
*Typically serve Tuesday – Saturday on the build site.
*Assist with all aspects of hands-on construction tasks including, but not limited to, demolition, site prep, framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, roofing, finish carpentry and landscaping.
*Projects may include new construction, rehabilitation, critical home repair and weatherization projects.
*Lead small groups of volunteers and facilitate safe and positive experiences for everyone working on site.
*Maintain site safety by adhering to Habitat construction safety policies, modeling best practices and guidelines, volunteer education and site monitoring.
This position will focus on home construction and neighborhood revitalization aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley (Habitat EBSV) revitalizes neighborhoods, builds affordable and sustainable housing solutions, and empowers families through successful homeownership. Habitat EBSV was the first affiliate in the Bay Area to build green and continues to be one of the leading Habitat affiliates in affordable green building in the U.S. Since 1997, the AmeriCorps Program has been vital to the success of our program. To date, we have hosted over 244 AmeriCorps Members. AmeriCorps Members play an integral role in providing leadership to our volunteers, engaging community partners, and serving as ambassadors to our affiliate and the Habitat Mission. AmeriCorps Members at Habitat EBSV engage with over 6,000 volunteers, partner families, and community partners. AmeriCorps Members gain skills in leadership, community engagement, public speaking, and training in a variety of subject matters relevant to the complex world of affordable housing.

In addition to the AmeriCorps Living Stipend, Members receive a monthly rent stipend paid directly to the landlord to offset the high cost of living in the beautiful and exciting California Bay Area. Benefits of AmeriCorps service
*Living allowance $17,000 for approximately 10 ½ months of service.
