Sobre Nós

Resources and Help Against Marital Abuse (RAHAMA), Inc. was founded in 2006 on Islamic principles to empower women that experience domestic abuse through education, advocacy, support, and housing; serving with cultural and language competencies.

RAHAMA became a non-profit in 2016, and is dedicated to the psychological, emotional, social well-being, and health of women and children. We provide a safe space for clients to access compassionate, culturally, and linguistically competent services. We offer individual and group counseling, as well as individualized case management, utilizing a trauma-informed approach. Our goal is to remove barriers to service that women who are Muslim, or members of potentially isolating religion, immigrant or refugee group, often encounter.

We help survivors to navigate legal and service systems, find empowerment, and cultivate language and professional skills in order to rebuild their lives and become financially independent. Many survivors have physical and mental health care needs that are a result of their trauma and need help making doctor’s appointments, arranging for interpretation, and transportation.
