Spay Worcester

Spay Worcester is a task force under the Massachusetts Animal Coalition (MAC). Spay Worcester's main purpose is to reduce the amount of free-roaming cats on the streets of Worcester, Massachusetts through TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release). Spay Worcester collaborates with Tufts Veterinary hosptial to perform the spays/neuters. We also have collaborations with local shelters, such as the Worcester Animal Rescue League, Broken Tail Rescue, Second Chance Animal Shelter, and NEADY Cats to give friendlier cats the opportunity to find homes. A big component of our work is focused on helping low-income families with low-cost spaying and neutering during our "friendly" clinics. We schedule a time for their cat(s) to be spayed or neutered and transport them to Tufts so that they can receive proper veterinarian care and then be transported back to their loving owners.

We are currently going into our second grant from Petsmart Charities and have already spayed/neutered over 1,000 cats in just two years. We are growing our volunteer base and are hoping to expand our fundraising efforts by attending local events that can help us raise necessary funds to continue.
