Joy2Learn was founded in 2000 by concert pianist Alan Gampel, using technology to bring the arts into the classroom. While touring during his concert schedule, Alan played in K-12 schools and noticed students positive response. He wanted to bring other well-known artists into the classroom but knew that physically that was unrealistic, so he turned to technology to accomplish the task. This visionary approach was before the Internet and YouTube. Alan designed and produced seven video presentations just for Joy2Learn for use by teachers in any grade level and any subject area. Joy2Learn then developed a six-week online professional development course, Bringing Joy to Learning Through Creativity, to help teachers boost their own creativity and increase their students' creativity as well. Joy2Learn offers the course for free to teachers across the US. Joy2Learn is an accredited professional development provider in NY, MA, TX, NV, AK and WA. Educators who successfully complete Joy2Learn's course can earn continuing education credits from these states.
