ReStart

ReStart is a non-profit organization located in Reno, Nevada that serves individuals and families coping with mental disabilities who are at-risk of homelessness or who are currently without a permanent residence. The mission of ReStart is to reduce and prevent homelessness and increase self-sufficiency of people who are homeless.

The goal of the ReStart is to assist clients and their families achieve self-sufficiency and independent living through safety net programming that raises them out of extreme poverty by increasing life-skills and income levels. ReStart programs include housing assistance, psychiatric care, medication monitoring, mental health and substance abuse counseling, intensive case management, educational groups (financial literacy, life skills, boundaries, etc.), fiscal representative payee services, showers, laundry, mail services, and a safe day center. Providing homeless individuals and their families (and those at-risk of homelessness) with intensive case management and housing options helps them to move beyond “quick fixes” and affect long-term, positive outcomes in their lives.
