Development Assistant: Grant Writer

Position Summary: 

The Development Assistance will report to the Director of Philanthropy and work closely with a small team to shape and implement the Clinic's fundraising strategies. The Development Assistant will have exposure to all development efforts, as well as the ability to propose special projects to enhance their professional development while strengthening the Clinic's impact and reach.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Research new grant opportunities 
• Draft and manage grant submission process for grants $10K and under
• Work with the program team to track grant status of goals and objectives 
• Track grants and reporting requirements using instrumental Maintain database--Donor Tools
• Administer funder correspondence & reports 
• Assist with planning of the Clinic's annual fundraiser 
• Support the Clinic's social media efforts related to grants
• Collaborate on the end-of-year and annual report 

Basic Qualifications:

• Possess some background/experience/interest in development
• Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications
• Strong analytical and organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
• Passion for Shepherd's mission
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work independently but also as a team player
