Volunteer Grocery Shopper for Seniors - Bloomington, MN

Enjoy shopping? Get your day off on the right foot by helping as a volunteer shopper with Help At Your Door! We help seniors and individuals with physical disabilities to maintain their independence and continue living at home.

In this role you will work as a team with other volunteers to fill grocery orders for Help At Your Door clients. Orders are printed and ready for our shoppers on weekday mornings starting at about 6 a.m. Volunteer shoppers take the lists and walk through the stores, finding the items and filling the grocery carts. Volunteers help double-check each cart, assist with the check-out process, and help pack the groceries into totes to be ready for delivery. Shoppers do not pay for or deliver the groceries themselves.

Shopping shifts typically last 3 hours; and shoppers can sign up to help once a week or every other week.

Volunteers must have early weekday morning availability to assist with this role. Choose from Mondays, Thursdays or Fridays on a weekly or every other week basis. We can accommodate snowbird, vacations, and other schedule variations.
