Bike Champ - Advocacy Volunteer

Passionate about pedal power? Join the West Hollywood Bicycle Coalition (WeHoBYCO) Bike Champs and make a real impact in our community! We're looking for dedicated individuals who are eager to champion cycling initiatives, advocate for safer streets, and promote sustainable transportation options in West Hollywood. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just love the idea of a bike-friendly city, your voice matters! 

What does being a Bike Champ entail? As a Bike Champ you are an essential part of our mission, advocating for safer bike infrastructure, better bike lanes, and common sense policies that support cyclists' rights on the road. It's all about getting involved, raising awareness, and collaborating with like-minded advocates to create positive change. Together, we can pedal towards a brighter, greener future for West Hollywood!

Impact:

• Volunteers will help advocate for bike improvements, which means they could help bring to life protected bike lanes, traffic calming measures, bike signaling and other bike safety measures in our community. They can also help educate on how to safely share the road between all the different road users. Volunteers like you can help make change happen in our community!

Role/Responsibilities:

• Advocacy:  Volunteers will help advocate for safer biking infrastructure, protected bike lanes, and policies that support cyclists' rights. This could include email campaigns, contacting city council members and attending key meetings where decisions are being made about bike infrastructure.
• Community events: Help us organize and participate in fun and engaging biking events that bring our community together.  This includes bike rides; Ride Marshals to help guide rides are especially welcome.
• Outreach and education:  Spread the word about the benefits of biking through outreach efforts and educational initiatives aimed at residents, businesses, and policymakers
